GUWAHATI: A youth, identified as Monjit Deka (23) of the Housing Colony in Silpukhuri, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the same locality on Saturday morning. According to police sources, Deka was actually a resident of Nizarapar here but used to stay with this aunt in Silpukhuri.

According to the sources, the deceased hosted a party in his aunt's absence last night. Police suspects that Deka and some friends were about to go somewhere else on motorbikes when he lost his balance and fell and a bottle tucked in his pants broke and pierced his lower abdomen. His friends took him to a hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries there. Deka's three friends have been taken to the Chandmari Police where they are being questioned, the sources added.
