When we talk about Vaastu, the design and layout of the house comes into our mind. Basically, it is the energy of the place which has effects on us. The vibes can be changed or it can get altered by having different energisers or because of certain changes done to the structure or appearance. Extensive studies have been made to boost the energy of a place. It is easy to make a house Vaastu compliant when it is constructed newly. But for existing houses and moving into rented premises, one does not have the liberty of proper Vaastu or to make structural changes. It is supposed to be very lucky to have a horseshoe over the main door in “U” direction. Hang it on a Saturday.It protects the inmates of the house from the evil effects of Shani (Saturn).

2.If there is a need for an underground water-storage tank, it must be provided at the Northeast. But DO NOT place a septic tank at the Northeast which is supposed to be the abode of the gods. Overhead water tanks should be kept at the Southwest, South, West or Northwest.
3.The Southwest of the house should be kept heavy, high and closed with thick walls.
5.The drawing room/ reception area should be ideally located at the North.
6.The best areas for the children’s room are at the Northeast and East.
7.Marriageable girls should stay in the room at Northwest.
16.It has been found that mango, peepal and ashoka leaves have antibacterial and antiseptic properties. They are used over the main door for Vaastu purposes.
19.A swastika symbol made with turmeric and lime (Roli) can rectify Vaastu defects of business establishments. So always have this at shops.
AN INTERESTING CHANGE:
Recently, a prominent political leader had a public meeting at Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. Ujjain is famous for its temples and astrology. Another leader of the same party held a meeting at the same place during the last Lok Sabha elections facing the public at the South i.e. from the podium at the North. It was not successful and the party lost the elections by a huge margin. This time the Vaastu experts of Ujjain have pointed out the mistake and the new leader had addressed the public from the opposite side facing the North. The crowd gathering was huge with thousands of followers.
