AIUDF demands Rijiju’s resigtion as minister

GUWAHATI, Dec 14: The AIUDF has raised the demand for immediate resigtion of Kiren Rijiju as Union Minister of State for Home for his alleged involvement in the Rs 450-crore Kameng hydel power project scam.

In a statement issued to the press today, AIUDF president and MP Badruddin Ajmal said: “Prime Minister rendra Modi did say that ‘ham khayenge ham khane denge (we won’t take bribe, nor will we allow anyone to take)’. Rijiju still holding the post of Union Minister of State for Home has proved it beyond doubt the Prime Minister’s words and action don’t match. In the me of revealing black money, this government has made lakhs of poor suffer. Now the common people have raised their eyebrows when they came to know that a Union minister is involved in Rs 450-crore scam. The scam should be thoroughly investigated. However, till the investigation is over, Rijiju should step down as the Union Minister of State for Home.”
