GUWAHATI, Aug 19: The State BJP has reacted sharply to the former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi’s allegations against the Sarbanda Sonowal-led government that it is providing safeguard to former APSC chairman Rakesh Paul, who was involved in the cash-for-job scam. State BJP spokesperson Pramod Swami, retorting on the APSC scam, countered Gogoi by putting forward slew of questions as to under whose tenure had Paul been appointed as APSC chairman and involved in the scam. Swami further questioned the former Chief Minister as to why he could not arrest Rakesh Paul during his regime. “The BJP government is maintaining zero tolerance against corruption. We’re endeavouring to root out corruption at all levels and because of our effort many are now behind bars,” Swami added.
