He expressed his wish to adopt Hinduism to the office-bearers of the VHP. VHP organizing secretary Pramod Joshi for Aruchal Pradesh region organized a religious programme at Seetaram Thakurwadi Mandir in Guwahati on May 28.
Mahant Pitambar Das of the temple and his associates initiated the Brazilian youth into Hindu Dharma reciting 'Vedik mantras'. During the initiation the young man has been med 'Jaganth'.
According to Joshi, the westerners are now drawn to Hindu Deities and want to be their devotees. "The number of people interested in adopting Hindu culture has been increasing every year. The foreign Christian people come to India from so far, with the yearning to learn spiritual significance of Hindu Dharma and Deities; but people, who are born as Hindus, do not bother to know the importance of such fairs and moreover, indulge in malpractices in celebration of their religious festivals.. It has become necessary to learn about Hindu Dharma and educate others to change this situation else, it will be a matter of shame for Hindus to learn their Dharma from foreigners one day," he said.
