GUWAHATI, Jan 9: “Dimasas are probably the oldest community in Northeast region, as it was evolved in this region which can be traced by their Haplo group report,” said human Geographic project research scholar on human migration during last one lakh years Raj Pradeep Chakraborty. Speaking to the media recently, Chakraborty said: “As we know, modern human civilization dawned in Africa, and they started to migrate in different ways due to change of climate and tural environment. The people were divided in various groups according to their choice and migrated in various ways. One group migrated to the South Asian region, which later migrated in various ways. With the human population genetics, which is a tool to find the Haplo type and Haplo group report of every modern man, we can track back our ancestors lakhs of year ago and find that all the modern people on the earth are from the same origin. I, therefore, request all the people of our state and society to take some steps to find out our relation instead of fighting with each other. I also request the universities of the state and research scholars to come forward and start more studies in this sector.”
