GUWAHATI, July 27: The Government of Assam has expressed grief at the demise of Bijoy Krish Handique, former Union Minister for DoNER and Mines and Union Minister of State for Chemicals & Fertilizers, Parliamentary Affairs and Defence. He passed away on Sunday.
Press adviser to Chief Minister Bharat Chandra rah condoled the death of the former Union minister.
The Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) also condoled the death of the former Union minister. In a statement issued to the press today, BSS general secretary Kamakala Kanta Mushahary said that it was Handique as DoNER Minister who was instrumental in granting Rs 8.40 crore for the cultural project of the BSS in 2011.
