The Indira Gandhi tiol Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS) is a non-contributory old-age pension scheme that covers Indians who are 60 years or above and live below the poverty line (BPL). The pension scheme is part of the tiol Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) that was launched by the Ministry of Rural Development in August, 1995.
All individuals above the age of 59 who live below the poverty line are eligible to apply for IGNOAPS.
Pension Amount
All IGNOAPS beneficiaries aged 60-79 receive a monthly pension of Rs. 200. Those who are 80 years and above receive a monthly pension amount of Rs. 500.
How to apply:
(1) If the applicant is from a rural area, he/she has to apply it to the respective gaon panchayat (GP) president. If the applicant is from an urban area, he/she has to apply it to the respective civic body chief.
(2) The application has to be submitted with two copies of passport size photograph of the applicant.
(3) The age of the applicant should be above 60, and it should be backed by an age certificate from a government physician or a certificate from a competent authority.
(4) The applicant has to mention his/her BPL ID number.
(5) The income tax certificate of the applicant from the circle officer has to be affixed with the application.
(6) A receipt of land revenue/ municipal receipt to have paid by the applicant has to be affixed.
(7) The candidate has to mention if he/she has applied for Indira Gandhi tiol Old Age Pension earlier or not. If yes, he/she has to mention to whom he/she submitted it.
