GUWAHATI, August 14: As many as three Assam Police personnel have been med for police medals for gallantry, one for President’s medal for distinguished service, 17 for police medals for meritorious service and three for fire service medals for meritorious service on the eve of the 70th Independence Day today.
Those who have been med for police medals for gallantry are Dibrugarh (HQ) DSP Pradip Saikia, Tenth APBn havildar Dinesh Barman and Pawan Dohutia of Tenth APBn.
The lone awardee for President’s police medal for distinguished service is ADGP (Railway) and in-charge BTAD IGP LR Bishnoi.
The 17 policemen who have been med for police medals for meritorious service are APRO SP Durga Mohan Baishya, APRO SP Aswini rzari, Dhemaji DSB SI Anil Chandra Sarmah, APRO SI Taher Uddin Ahmed, First APBn SI Kishore Singh Rai, APRO ASI Prafulla Baruah, Guwahati Police Commissionerate ASI Bagaban Talukdar, Dergaon PTC ASI Ripun Dutta, Third APBn ASI/clerk Jatin Chandra Deka, CID ASI Satyajit Dey, First APBn ASI/clerk Dharmendra Borah, Degraon PTC havildar Kailash Sarmah, Golaghat DEF havildar Thaneswar Gogoi, APRO constable Kumud Ranjan Das, Third APBn’s Abon Khanikar, Guwahati Police Commissionerate WPC Madhuri Mech and SB UBC Gha Kanta Baruah.
The three who have been med for fire service medal for meritorious service are squad commander Upendra th Baishya, sub-officer Kuladhar Choudhury and leading fireman Aman Ulla Ali.
