GUWAHATI, March 22: The AM Television is going to organize the 12th Prag Cine Awards on May 14 and 15 in Tezpur to encourage and felicitate artistic and technical excellence of the state and the North East.
Speaking to newsmen in Guwahati Press Club today, organizer of the award ceremony Sanjib rayan said: “To give recognition to the artistes working in film and theatre industry of the state and the Northeast, we are going to give away awards in 28 categories including best debut director, best film, best actor (male), best actor (female) and others. This year, the lifetime achievement award will be given away to Assamese actress Bidya Rao with a memento, a citation and an amount of money. As many as 17 films came for the nomition in the best film in Assamese language film category, whereas, in other than Assamese language films three films came in Sadri, Rajbongshi and Bodo languages. In the Northeast category, there are four films from Aruchal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur and Tripura. The results will be declared in the award giving ceremony.
