GUWAHATI, March 2: State Fince Department released Rs 149 crore for uniform of elementary school students in the State. Around 37 lakh elementary school students are to be benefitted from this scheme that was closed from fiscal 2014-15 by the previous government. With the present dispensation at Dispur pushing for the scheme, the Centre had released funds recently. According to State Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, each pair of uniform is to cost Rs 400. “Now on students will get uniform regularly,” he said.
