tiol Award winning film Kothanodi to be released today

GUWAHATI, Sept 15: tiol Award winning Assamese film Kothanodi will be released in the state on Friday.  

The film - directed by Bhaskar Hazarika –will be screened at PVR, Grand Cine, Gold Cinema in Paltan Bazaar, Anuradha, Pragjyoti and Galleria in Guwahati; Galleria in Tinsukia and Dibrugarh, Inox in Jorhat, Bhaskar Jyoti in Sivasagar, Dream in Mangaldoi, Kalpa in Goalpara, Joki in Tezpur, Gold Cinema in Biswath Charali, Biswa in North Lakhimpur, Tarun in Morigaon, Bhartia in lbari and Sharma Cinema in Patsala.

Celebrating the release of the much awaited film, the cast and crew of the film will attend the 8:00 pm screening today at Anuradha, Guwahati along with specially invited guests. Tickets for the film are available at the box office as well online at www.bookmyshow.com.

Director Bhaskar Hazarika appeals to the audience to come and meet the people behind the film and enjoy the movie with them at the theatre.

The movie has already been screened at various film festivals around the world including 20th Busan Intertiol Film Festival 2015, BFI London Film Festival 2015, 17th Jio Mambi Mumbai Film Festival, Dharamshala Intertiol Film Festival 2015, Goteborg Intertiol Film Festival, and Indie Meme Film Festival Austin among others.

Kothanodi is based on events and characters described in Buri Air Xadhu by Lakshmith Bezbaroa. Eminent actors Seema Biswas, Adil Hussain, Kopil Bora, Zerifa Wahid, Urmila Mahanta and Asha Bordoloi acted the film. The director and the team of Kothanodi hoped that audience will enjoy the film and rediscover the art of storytelling through this film and get a chance to enjoy an Assamese film of a very different style and temperament.
