GUWAHATI, Feb 28: The convening committee of the Indigenous Tribal Sahitya Sabha, Assam (ITSSA) has said Chief Minister Tarun has deceived the indigenous sahitya sabhas in the State yet again.

One of ATSSA conveners Kamala Kanta Mushahary, who is also the general secretary of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS), said: “Every year the BSS, Rabha Sahitya Sabha, Tiwa Sahitya Sabha and the Mising Sahitya Sabha get TSP funds of Plain Tribes and Other Back Classes through the Department of Higher Education. However, this year the files meant for TSP funds of the four tribal sahitya sabhas have been sent back to them by Plain Tribe and Other Backward Classes Minister Sumitra Doley Patir. The minister has said that the file was not sent based on the decision taken by a high-level committee.” The ATSSA has also demanded of Dispur to exclude all tribal belts and blocks from the proposed extended area of the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) so as to preserve them intact.
