GUWAHATI, Feb 21: Jalukbari police arrested nine boarders of Assam Engineering College (AEC) Hostel No. 1 on Wednesday in connection with a case filed against them for vandalizing at a marriage at mid-night near ASEB in Jalukbari on Tuesday. According to allegations, the students beat up both bride and groom parties, vandalize furniture, glass pans and stched away gold chains, purportedly in retaliation to the beating up of two boarders by the groom party. This morning senior police officer, including Guwahati Police Commissioner Hiren th, DCP West Bhawarlal Mee rushed to the spot. The arrested students are Gautam Mayong, Diganta th, Mash Baishya, Mrinmoy Chakrabarty, Mash Sarma, Hirak Jyoti th, Sivam Karmakar, Subham Kalita and Harsajit Sarma.
