GUWAHATI, Feb 4: The Centre for Agriculture and Rural Development (CARD) is going to organize a programme, Vibrant North East 2016, to provide an opportunity for the region to showcase its potential and opportunities for the rest of the country from February 18 to 20 in the city.
Speaking to the press, the organizer of the programme, Tushar Sharma said in Guwahati
Press Club today: “Since the North Eastern region is largely rural, and horticultural production domites the agri-landscape, any development planning has to largely focus on the farm and rural sector. Therefore there is need for partnerships for training and competence building, investments, marketing, processing, projects and infrastructure development to accelerate growth and economic activities, leading to more jobs, incomes and opportunities for the people of this region. The three-day programme will be comprised of development expo, agri and rural expo and North East Development Meet for the youth, women, NGOs and development agencies of the region to interact with the tiol organizations. We have collaborated with the Ministry of DONER and Ministry of Food Processing Industries for the programme.”
