About Department of Radio-diagnosis, AGMC & GBP Hospital, Agartala: Tripura is one of the smallest states in the country located in Northeast India, covers 10,491 square km. and bordered by Bangladesh to the North, South, and West. The Health & Family Welfare Department of Tripura is one of the vital departments under the Govt of Tripura and it is located at the Health Directorate Building, 2nd Floor, Pandit J.N. Complex, Agartala. the Department is headed by a Minister of the Government of Tripura who is aided by Secretaries to look after the entire department.

The health care infrastructure is divided into three tiers – the primary health care network, a secondary care system comprising district and sub-divisional hospitals and tertiary hospitals providing specialty and super specialty care. As on 2013–14, there are 84 Primary Health Centers, 18 Community Health Centers, 13 Sub Divisional Hospitals, 3 District Hospitals, 6 State Hospitals.
