Request to postpone CCE 2022 Mains

In this critical situation, with just a fortnight away from the examination, one who is directly or indirectly affected cannot prepare for one of the toughest examinations in the state.

Sentinel Digital Desk

Through your esteemed daily, I want to request the Chairman of APSC and the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, to postpone the APSC CCE 2022 (Mains) examination due to the havoc caused by the ongoing floods. Lakhs of people are affected, and most parts of the state are bearing the devastation caused by the floods. Most parts of Lower Assam, Lakhimpur, NC Hills, Majuli, Morigaon, etc. are reeling under floods.

In this critical situation, with just a fortnight away from the examination, one who is directly or indirectly affected cannot prepare for one of the toughest examinations in the state. Also, starting June 26, there will be an increase in rainfall, which will continue even during the examination days, as pointed out by the ASDMA. So it will be detrimental to a large number of candidates. With examination centres in seven districts, with half of them flooding partially and the rest on the verge of the same if it rains again.

So I request the concerned authorities to take a humane view of the same and provide a level playing field for all. A postponement will be a boon to most of the candidates and will also improve the image of the APSC as being concerned about the welfare of candidates and the state as a whole.

Group of candidates.
