Global warming is on the rise. As a result, the world's climate is changing rapidly. If this continues, global warming will reach its peak and human civilization will be destroyed. Recently, a team of researchers led by Rob Jackson, a professor of Environment and Geology at Stanford University, presented a disturbing piece of information. Methane emissions from the atmosphere have increased dramatically from 2000 to 2017, according to the study, which was published in the International Science Conference. In 2017 alone, 596 metric tonnes of methane gas was released into the atmosphere. If methane emissions continue at this rate, the average global warming is expected to increase by 3-4 degree celsius before the end of the 21st century, according to the study. Another important piece of data cited in the same study is that methane emissions in Africa, Southwest Asia and China are relatively high. The whole matter should be taken very seriously by the world in the light of such researched information. In particular, countries around the world need to take action in this regard without limiting the issue to global warming. Researchers have been advocating for the use of environment-friendly fuels as well as environment-friendly science and technology for agriculture and animal husbandry, mainly in the field of greenhouse gas emissions prevention. The existence of the planet will be secured if authorities concerned and environmental organizations try to transform this consultant from the grassroots level into reality. In addition to the Stanford University study, a number of other scientists have predicted the catastrophic effects of global warming. The forecast, presented by scientists at the Institute of Earth-science at the University of Heidelberg in Germany and the University of Southampton in England, has already made headlines in the international media. According to the forecast, the world's largest ice sheet may melt in a few days due to the rate at which the ocean surface is warming due to global warming. At the South Pole, this large iceberg is called the East Antarctic ice sheet. It has an elevation of about 3,000 metres above sea level. The ice on the East Antarctic ice sheet is 27 million cubic metres. Scientists fear that if the ice melts completely, the earth's oceans could rise to a height of 58 metres or 190 feet above sea level. As a result, many Countries may disappear from the map of the World forever. Therefore, everyone should know that there is no alternative but to conserve and expand the forest of the country, use clean energy, make appropriate reforms in the agricultural process and reduce and convert the amount of carbon dioxide emitted from the industry.

The recent announcement by the Railway Board regarding the complete electrification of its railway network by 2023 is welcome. The Indian Railways, of late, is dependent much on fossil fuel through diesel-powered locos affecting the environment badly. As otherwise complete electrification of its entire route network will reduce carbon emission levels and makes the transporter a highly sustainable and eco-friendly organization. Thus setting up a benchmark to be the best amongst other railway networks across the globe.
The target of 2023 should be completed quickly in phases across all the railway zones including railway lines along the Konkan Railway route. A deep focus on non-electrified tracks including its survey, along with doubling/tripling/quadrupling of tracks as necessary should be taken up at the earliest without much delay. Complete electrification as announced will bring in immense opportunities to the Indian Railways both to the passenger and freight traffic and may help to identify ways to reduce the cost to the exchequer. The organization should thus make all the efforts to inch closer towards achieving eco-friendly electrified lines by doing away with diesel-powered locos in a fast-paced manner by 2023.

All is not well in the KMSS launched Raijor Dol. The switching of Kamal Medhi from Congress to Raijor Dol has created a rift within the party. Now the party is divided between two groups one led by Bhabesh Handique and Kamal Medhi. Both are eyeing the president's post. Elections are hardly three months away and if the Raijor Dol wants to put up any semblance of fight against the BJP then they have to get rid of internal issues. Already the ruling party is miles ahead of the rest in terms of preparation. The schemes recently launched by the Government are really beneficial and reaching the targeted people. The Congress is already divided into many groups and same is the story with another 'CAA andolan' formed party, the AJP. The dominance of advisor Basanta Deka and convener Jagdish Bhuyan have sidelined the people of the AJYCP. The important posts have been allocated to former AASU leaders. Lurinjyoti Gogoi has become a big joke. His announcement of giving Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000 per month to unemployed public has become a laughing issue. Without any research and logic the former AASU general secretary is talking rubbish in front of the media. Senior leaders within the party should restrain him from holding regular press briefing. His illogical comments have brought down the image of the party. A few months back, before Lurinjyoti Gogoi's elevation as president, political gurus were of the opinion that the AJP would give a tough competition to the BJP in both lower and upper Assam. Things have changed dramatically and going by present scenario the fight would be directly between the Congress and the BJP. The other two parties, AJP and Raijor Dol, would act as merely vote cutter. They should be thankful if they could fetch 5 seats between them.

A few will disagree that online classes, during the pandemic -induced lockdown, were the best option left with the teachers to help out the students in continuing their studies in a grim situation. But one can hardly deny the fact that during these classes students slip into a zone of nervousness, confusion and agitation. Due to shortage of time, students are not able to hold one-to-one interaction with the teachers and this leads to stress and depression. Undeniably, discontinued classes and disrupted learning has left many students vulnerable to anxiety pangs resulting in panic disorders and phobias.
Board examinations are, no doubt, an important milestone in students' life. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students took the uncertainty of their examinations in their stride. So, the recent declaration of board examinations for the CBSE class X and XII made by the Union Education Minister has apparently left many students in a situation to deal with too much stress. Stress, to some extent, is good because it gives them the push to excel, but it should be ensured that it doesn't go beyond a point. Parents and teachers need to be mindful of such serious issues being confronted by the young generation these days.

The Punjab Governor has expressed his concern about the damage to mobile towers during the ongoing protest of farmers. The communication channels are essential for the daily affairs of the business, educational institutions, government, and society in general. All citizens have the right to protest peacefully, but damaging public property is a matter of grave concern that has affected the nation widely. Hope that the Punjab Government would take strong action and support telecom authorities to restore the communication facilities.

Presently Postal Department issues computer printed receipts where the portion used by the Department has sticker while the portion given to consumer is without sticker. Postal Department for convenience of users of postal services should have sticker also in the portion given to the consumers so that they may not require gum at their end to affix it on their despatch registers or documents. It will be beneficial to public exchequer by avoiding man hours and gum to paste postal cash receipts on their despatch registers.
Postal Department will not be burdened extra because even presently one of the dual portions of same cash receipt still has sticker on back for the portion kept by Department of Posts itself.
