Wherever in any country of the world, any type of religious or racial fanaticism has deepened its roots, all kind of social, economic and political rights of the people have got trampled. Growth and development have been taken over by destruction and devastation. We must stand for inclusive nationalism which is essential for a strong and developed nation.

Dispur's latest move to put a slab on the fee structure of the private schools is undoubtedly a welcome move. In fact, it was long overdue as all the private schools are collecting fee in a random way. Majority of the schools lack the basic infrastructures but the management committee has no shame in collecting money from the helpless parents. The latest move of the Sarbananda Sonowal government if implemented in letter and spirit will be a big succour to the parents. The AASU who claims to be torch bearer of the students rights and privileges has remained mute over the years. The so-called student leaders should remember that apart from holding rallies, dharnas and bandhs, burning effigies and tyres, plus making provocative political speeches they have a moral duty to look after the genuine interests of the students whom they claim to represent. The government and the AASU brigade should remember that we the common people are the watchdogs.
