Political alliance of Opposition in Assam
The results of the Lok Sabha elections were announced on June 4, 2024. In Assam, the ruling BJP won 11 seats while the opposition Congress won the remaining three seats. It seems to help at least a little. However, the Congress and AJP-Raijor Dal alliance was disrupted in the last by-elections, and both parties contested separately. As a result, all three parties lost the elections. The parties will contest the Panchayat elections separately. Is it really right? A strong position of the ruling party will help run the government, but a strong role of the opposition is also very important in a democracy. The votes were divided mainly due to the lack of a Congress-AJP alliance in the 2021 assembly election of Assam. Due to division of votes, AJP lost the election with 0 seats. Their president, Lurinjyoti Gogoi, also lost the election in two constituencies (Naharkatia and Duliajan) because of the division of votes. Therefore, the people of Assam will never trust the opposition forces if they continue to play the game of breaking the alliance by fighting for seats in such circumstances. It is the responsibility of the opposition to keep a close eye on everything the ruler does. It is the main responsibility of the opposition to praise every good deed done by the ruler and bitterly criticize every bad deed.
