Real test begins for Pakistan

At last, the real test has begun for Pakistan as Indian armed forces carried out 'Operation Sindoor' to strike terrorists' hideouts successfully in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan has already been listed as a rogue country for sponsoring terrorism from its soil, and this time it has crossed the limit by killing 26 innocent tourists for ulterior motives. India has lost her patience, and it has given a free hand to armed forces, and consequently, 'Operation Sindoor' started, which was the hope and aspiration of every Indian. From now on, it is desirable that the roots of terrorism be wiped out so that its ugly head is never seen on Indian soil. We have full confidence in our armed forces, and they will keep an eye on every eventuality to save our motherland. We are also proud of two female officers, namely Sofiya Qureshi and Vyomika Singh, who briefed on the operation tirelessly, and their glorious moments will be cherished by all in one. If Pakistan does not learn a lesson from this operation, then they should be ready to face more severe operations in the future.

Mother’s love knows no bounds

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Himanshu Ranjan Bhuyan for giving us the opportunity to read a very precious article, 'Mother's Day: Honouring Love Beyond All Words', published in your esteemed daily on the occasion of Mother's Day on May 11. Every year, one special Sunday in May is dedicated to the mother, but do we think every moment of our daily lives about the immense sacrifices of our beloved mothers right from the moment she carried us in her womb and carried us on her hip till we were capable of speaking to her? The answer may be "No" for many of us. For many children today, Mother is an annoying person, and growing up under her is like a strict regime. They may not have liked her mom when she said, "No phone, no friend until board exams." But do they ever realize why she applies strictness on them? They never forget that if there is any close and trusted person on the earth, it is your parents, more particularly your mother, who thinks 24×7 about how to shape her children's lives, shaping their values, attitudes and aspirations, and therefore, she leaves no stone unturned to achieve the goal. The writer has said that it is the most auspicious occasion for us to take a solemn pledge to honour not only our mothers but also the countless women who play nurturing roles in building the future of the nation. By presenting one flower bouquet or saying 'Happy Mother's Day', our expression of gratitude towards her lifelong sacrifices is not over. All that she expects from her children, no matter how old and great we are, is to sit with her, hug her and thank her for everything. Let us all make it a habit of doing so before the start of the day in order to prove the universal fact that mothers are not just special; they are sacred. This very beautiful feeling will really make our lives worth living on the earth in the days to come.

The ‘big guns’

We in India consider certain individuals as 'Big Guns' because of their immense contributions in spheres like movies, culture, sports, politics, etc., and they are almost regarded as demigods by their followers. In this regard I beg to name the following as big guns. They are Amitabh Bachchan, also known as Big B, and the Khans, namely Shahrukh, Salman, Ameer, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karan Johar, Mahesh Bhatt, Ravi Shastri, Dhoni, Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav, etc., to name a few. The nation has given them immense love, affection, and honour, in return for which their reaction in the time of national crisis is totally nil. They always maintain a safe distance at times when the nation wants their services. Their recent nonplussed stance at a time when the nation is struggling against a demon in the form of Pakistan is very condemnable. A few consoling and encouraging words from the selected few of the Big Gun company would have consoled the bereaved families and also egged on our armed forces. The so-called above Big Guns are fair-weather friends. So let us treat them accordingly.

Brotherhood

Brotherhood means unity, love, and mutual support among people, regardless of race, religion or background. It promotes peace and harmony in society. Where we treat others like brothers, we build trust and understanding. True brotherhood teaches us to care, help and respect each other in difficult times; brotherhood brings people together and strengthens communities. By practising brotherhood, we create a society where everyone feels valued and safe. It is not just a relationship by blood but a way to stand together as one human family.
