Story of a ‘Bakul’ tree
A particular 'bakul' tree in Barsatra village under Dahi Gaon Panchayat in Darrang district thrives thanks to the continuous care and love it receives from the villagers. The tree, planted on January 1, 2016, by the villagers near Barsatra LP School, a prominent primary educational institution established in the locality in 1967, serves as a living symbol of the school's academic achievements. In 2015, nine students from this school attained remarkable success in the Chief Minister's Special Scholarship Examination, filling the villagers with immense pride. This significant accomplishment was honoured by the planting of the tree, which continues to be diligently protected and nurtured by the local community. More than just a tree, it has now evolved to be a symbol of success, inspiring the students to strive for excellence in their academic pursuits. The school itself consistently displays outstanding performances, notably achieving an 'A+' grade in most of the recent Gunotsav evaluations.
