The right statesman

Sentinel Digital Desk

It has been a long time since our State has seen a statesman who could rise above politics, be it party or any other, and could voice out the ordinary citizens’ concerns and do something for them without thinking about losing the chair. People have been voting every time to different parties thinking there will be solutions for many issues which the State face today. Do we have someone among the current bunch who can do some extraordinary things for our State? Many issues such as lower economy, traffic issues, unemployment problem, tackling drug and liquor menace, handing over of State-owned enterprises like HPCL, BPCL, ASEB etc to others, corruption, social conflicts etc, to name a few which is currently plaguing our State.

Citizens have a very high hope on the elected representatives and I, as a citizen, do hope that the definition of Assamese will not be complicated and will encompass all ethnic tribes that make the fabric with which our beautiful Assamese society has been weaved with. Hope we will see a statesman soon.
