Two venomous snakes
The letter under the above published on 19th November written by Julie Bhuyan has drawn my attention. At the onset, I thank the writer for bringing out the dangerous communal rat and mouse war of words between two controversial figures who are the primary members of BJP and AUDF. Satya Ranjan Bora in a recent media interaction in Golaghat used derogatory language against a particular religion which can trigger a point of communal violence. Another figure Sikha Sarma, a UDF member wrote an equally derogatory column on her Facebook page against another religion. Sikha Sarma had earlier insulted martyrs and for that reason, she was put behind the bars on the complaint of some conscious citizens. Even during the Gorukhuti eviction drive, Sikha Sarma was instigating illegal encroachers with certain references to religion to stage war against district administration. Social media cannot be the forum to play tug-of-war between religions. These types of politicians are using the sentiments of common people to fulfil their agendas. We have seen how some miscreants used social media to incite violence against the minority Hindu community in Bangladesh during Durga Puja. Here, both Satya Ranjan Bora and Sikha Sarma are trying to be the messiah of two religious' communities with some dubious intention but some people are getting spelt into their aura and that can be dangerous. At any cost, we cannot let the secular fabric of society be damaged. State police cyber cell department should keep an eagle's eye on such hate monger spreader, and in this case, it is necessary to arrest the duo immediately and start the legal procedures for badly hurting the religious sentiments of two communities.

Clearing dirt
Post-independence Congress has been in power for a maximum period with three Prime Ministers from a single-family. It is only in 2014 that a full majority non-Congress government came to power today. In the long history of Congress rule and more particularly in the 10-year regime, the majority of government institutions were scattered by misgovernance, corruption and fraud which resulted in huge foreign debts. The Indian companies were making big losses. India was under the debt of countries like Iran Rs 48,000 crore, UAE Rs 40,000 crore and Indian fuel companies had a loss of Rs 1,33,000 crore. Indian Airlines were running in with the loss of Rs 58,000 crore, while the Indian Railways loss was estimated to be around Rs 22,000 crore. BSNL was down with Rs 1,500 crore. Such was the financial burden the previous regime of Dr Manmohan Singh's government had left for the next government to clear. The condition of our Army was not that well as soldiers did not have the basic weapons and protective equipment like bullet-proof jackets and state of the art fighter planes. In case of any war during that period our Armed forces would have faced difficulty surviving for a week. This resulted in tremendous pressure on the new government. Though during that period oil prices slashed substantially the Indians did not reap the benefit of reduced oil prices and were in every right to blame the then newly installed Central government. The government had to clear the debt by imposing certain taxes which ultimately hit the citizens hard. Moreover, Dr Singh's government had taken a foreign loan of Rs 2,50,000 crore with a humongous interest rate and the government had to pay Rs 25,000 crore as interest per year. The loan which was taken by the previous government fell as a liability over the new government. Today, the government have managed to clear the dues of Rs 2,50,000 crore from the taxes paid by the public. Now, with the things getting streamlined one can expect that the developmental pace of the nation goes on over-drive gear. All I can say is that all the inflation that happened was due to careless spending and corruption by the previous government.
Before quitting, one must admit that Dr Manmohan Singh was the best person Congress projected to lead the country but sadly, the diplomat and financial expert Dr Singh's hands were tied and remote-controlled by a mother-son duo, else he was given free hand such amount of dirt would not have gathered over India. We don't want 'Congress- mukt Bharat' but we call for 'Pseudo- Gandhismukt Congress'.

Param Bir?
'Param Bir' literally means the greatest warrior. Accordingly, PARAM BIR CHAKRA, the highest gallantry award is conferred upon the Braveheart or Bravehearts for his/her extreme valour and sacrifices on the battlefield. Coincidently, we have one Param Bir Singh, who holds a big position in the Maharashtra police but has been declared absconder by his government because of his misdeeds. We also know that the duty of a home minister of a state or nation is supposed to look after the law and order of the state or nation but again we have one Anil Deshmukh, former Home Minister of Maharashtra who is now under police /judicial custody facing charges of corruption. To make the list longer we have yet another top Maharashtra cop, Sachin Vaze, an encounter specialist held for murder and extortion charges. Indeed, what a royal combination!
Mumbai, which is the financial capital of the nation, has earned another distinction but the new one is dubious. It is the crime capital of the nation. Great CHHATRAPATI SIVAJI must be turning in his grave.
