Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is known for his work in “Kabir Singh” and “Animal”. The director is all set for his next big project, “Spirit” starring Prabhas in the lead. The film will have a pan-world release and earlier featured Deepika Padukone as the female lead. The actress is no longer part of the film as per reports.
According to multiple Telugu outlets, including Gulte and GreatAndhra.com, Vanga removed Deepika from the project after repeated clashes over her demands reportedly. The director was irked by her unprofessional demands.
Deepika allegedly requested an 8-hour workday which is about 6 hours of actual shoot time. Things went worse when Deepika was said to have demanded a hefty salary along with a percentage of the film’s profits. As per insiders claim she refused to deliver her dialogues in Telugu. As per reports, Deepika was set to receive her biggest cheque for Spirit and quoted an alleged Rs 20 crore fee. This left Vanga frustrated and he decided to part ways with her. The makers of “Spirit” are already looking for a replacement.
As per earlier reports, the delay in “Spirit’s” shoot was due to Deepika’s pregnancy. The movie was slated to begin filming in late 2024, but she had declined the role, but the director reportedly returned with revised shoot timelines as he wanted to sign her. Neither Deepika nor Sandeep Reddy Vanga has officially commented on the reports as of now.
On the work front, Deepika was last seen in “Jawan” and “Kalki 2898 AD”. She has not announced her upcoming projects. She will be part of “Kalki’s” sequel and will be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Love & War” and “King”. Deepika is known for giving blockbuster hits. (Agencies)
