Aespa just announced a partnership with “Street Fighter 6”. In contrast to the PUBG K-pop music fusion, the main focus of this partnership was in-game cosmetics. Juri, a character from Street Fighter, will be able to wear an aespa-themed clothing from July 4, 2025, to July 3, 2026.

With an impending PUBG K-pop collaboration, superstar girl group “aespa” is riding the wave of popularity directly into the Battle Royale game genre. Aespa has changed their focus from being a worldwide K-pop powerhouse to an inventive PUBG K-pop fusion creator after their most recent track, “Dirty Work,” peaked at number 1 on Spotify’s “Top Songs Debut Global” chart. On June 29th, the collaboration’s teasers started to surface. PUBG: “The collision of two universes” is the headline of a video posted on Battleground’s YouTube account, “PUBG x aespa Coming Soon.” In a new song titled “Dark Arts,” the partnership attempts to fuse the high-stakes world of Battle Royale games with the futuristic, metallic-edged sound of aespa. The complete trailer for “Dark Arts” was released online on June 3.

The girl band enters the PUBG: Battlegrounds in-game universe in the video, which plays into a darker aesthetic than what one might identify with traditional K-pop. Aespa-branded weaponry accompany them, however it’s not yet clear if they will be formally included in the game. K-pop performers have pushed limits and elevated musical collaborations by becoming more involved with the gaming and esports sectors. Aespa just announced a partnership with “Street Fighter 6”. K-pop is so ubiquitous that it becomes part of the furniture in other esport environments. Four League of Legends characters—Ahri, Akali, Evelynn, and Seraphine, are digitally represented in the League of Legends virtual K-pop quartet K/DA.

The success of the K-pop-themed Netflix film, Kpop Demon Hunters, led to a recent increase in popularity for the virtual K-pop group.

Aespa has a significant worldwide presence that extends beyond South Korea, America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Additionally, QQ Music and Tencent Music’s KuGou are causing a stir in China by topping multiple song charts and the Digital Album Sales chart, respectively. Also, they have received over 1.01 million pre-orders for physical copies. (Agencies)
