Sentinel Digital Desk

Days after the trailer of “Pati Patni Aur Woh” released, the makers of the film have landed in a controversy. In the trailer, Kartik Aaryan’s character Chintu Tyagi had a dialogue - ‘Biwi se sex maang lein toh hum bhikhari, biwi ko sex na dein toh hum atyachari aur kisi tarah jugaad laga ke usse sex haasil kar lein na toh balatkari bhi hum hain,’ which didn’t go down well with a lot of people. They were enraged and miffed because of the fact that Aaryan’s dialogue was an indirect dig at marital rape, which is a serious issue. The star cast and makers were at the receiving end of criticism on social media. After receiving a lot of backlash from the people, Bhumi Pednekar (who plays Kartik’s wife) has apologized, on behalf of Pati Patni Aur Woh team, for hurting the sentiments of viewers In conversation with Zoom, Pednekar said, “If we have hurt anybody’s sentiments, we are sorry, because that wasn’t the intention. But everybody who is involved in “Pati Patni Aur Woh”, does not belong to that school, does not belong to that thought process.” We hope this statement from Bhumi will give clarity to the ones who were upset initially.

Talking about the film, it is a story about a middle-class man, Chintu Tyagi (Kartik Aaryan). Bhumi Pednekar (Vedika Tyagi) plays his wife whereas Ananya Panday (Tapasya Singh) is the other woman in Chintu’s life. This love triangle is bound to garner many laughs in the theatres. We can say it as the film’s trailer was itself hilarious. Mudassar Aziz’s film is the official remake of Sanjeev Kumar and Vidya Singh’s 1978 film of the same name.

Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday’s Pati Patni Aur Woh clashes with Arjun Kapoor- Kriti Sanon’s Panipat on December 6. (IANS)
