MUMBAI: Actor Ray Stevenson who played the negative role of British Governor Mr. Scott in magnum opus ‘RRR’ passed away on Sunday at the age of 58. According to while shooting for a film in Italy he was hospitalized for sudden illness.
On May 23, Jr NTR took to Twitter pens a heartfelt tribute remembering Ray Stevenson. He wrote, "Shocked to hear about Ray Stevenson's passing. Gone too soon. It was a great experience working with him. May his soul rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and dear ones during this difficult time (sic)."
Sharing a still of the RRR shooting, SS Rajamouli wrote on Twitter, “Shocking... Just can't believe this news. Ray brought in so much energy and vibrancy with him to the sets. It was infectious. Working with him was pure joy. My prayers are with his family. May his soul rest in peace.”
Stevenson garnered rave reviews for his acting as a villain in SS Rajamouli's historical action drama thriller RRR. The film, which also stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR in prominent parts, recently received the prestigious Academy Award for Best Original Song.
As per sources, Ray was born on May 25, 1964, in Northern Ireland and he was also well-known for his appearances as Volstagg in Marvel's Thor trilogy and Othere in Vikings. He also provided the voice of Gar Saxon in the animated Star Wars series The Clone Wars and Rebels, and he was supposed to co-star with Rosario Dawson in Disney's planned Mandalorian spinoff, Ashoka.
On the other hand, on Monday RRR fame actor Ram Charan was speaking at the 'Film Tourism for Economic and Cultural Preservation' event, which was planned as part of the G20 Tourism Working Group Meeting here at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC). According to Charan, Kashmir is an "untapped" area. Ram said that “Kashmir is a magical place to visit since it is simply magnificent.”
At the G20 summit in Srinagar, Charan had several great talks, but one in particular impressed out since it was the one in which he expressed his love for Jammu and Kashmir.
