The Wheel of Time Season 1 is fantasy series created by Rafe Judkins starring Rosamund Pike, Daniel Henney, Zoë Robins and Madeleine Madden. The series has been released on Amazon Prime Video on Friday 19 November with 8 episodes titled Leavetaking, Shadow's Waiting, A Place of Safety, The Dragon Reborn, Blood Calls Blood, The Flame of Tar Valon and others.
The story of the Wheel of Time Season 1 is based on the 14 volume fantasy series by Robert Jordan in 1990 with the same title. The series revolves around Moiraine (Aes-Sedai of an organization) played by Rosamund Pike presenting herself as a powerful woman with powers of magic. She leads a group of youngsters Josha Stradowski as Rand al'Thor, Madeleine Madden as Egwene al'Vere, Barney Harris as Matrim 'Mat' Cauthon, Zoë Robins as Nynaeve al'Meara, Sophie Okonedo as Siuan and Marcus Rutherford as Perrin Aybara.
Moiraine takes the youngsters to the White Tower in the East as according to her one among the six one can be the rebirth body of Dragon who is a powerful person with the power to destroy the world or can save it.
The story begins with two Rivers, a rural community living peacefully where hardworking folk goes about their lives without any difficulties. But the community gets disrupted only when Moiraine enters the village and begins the action as village people were attacked by Trollocks which are hybrids of beasts and humans. After the attack, Trollocks has taken away one of the youngsters Nynaeve but the rest continue to follow Moiraine to the White Tower.
Rosamund Pike role with various shades in the series is worth watching as she fights off the Trollocks like a powerful woman being vulnerable. Her outstanding performance as an intense character drives the wheel of the series, she also faces Padan Fain who hunts Aes Sedai.
Daniel Henney as Lan Mandragoran is also effective with his character in the fantasy series. All the other characters Alexandre Willaume as Thom Merrilin and Sanche Alvaro Morte as Logain Ablar have played convincing roles.
