Police Support Sparks Emotional Response from Kapil
Comedian Kapil Sharma’s café in Surrey, Canada, has reopened to the public just days after a shocking firing incident outside the premises. Kap’s Café, co-owned by Sharma and his wife Ginni Chatrath, welcomed local police officers and city officials for a special visit to show solidarity—an emotional moment that the comedian shared on social media.

In a joint Instagram post, Kapil and Ginni shared a video showing members of the Surrey Police Service and Mayor Brenda Locke enjoying a meal at the café. Kapil expressed his gratitude, writing: “Thank you Mayor Brenda Locke, @surreypoliceservice and all the officials who visited @thekapscafe_ to show their love and support. United we stand against violence. We’re truly grateful.”

The café's official page also posted photos of the visit, stating: “Your support and presence mean a lot to us and to the community we serve.”

Firing Incident Left Staff ‘Shocked’ But Unharmed
The café had been temporarily closed after a firing incident occurred on July 10 around 1:50 am. According to Surrey Police, shots were fired while staff were still inside the premises. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, though at least 10 bullet holes and shattered glass were found at the scene.

Describing the incident as “heartbreaking,” the café staff thanked the community for their overwhelming support and praised the police for their swift response.

Now reopened, Kap’s Café stands as a symbol of resilience—serving smiles, coffee, and a message of peace over violence.
