Lahore: A 14 year old boy has killed his entire family, including his mother and two minor sisters in a horrendous incident that occurred in Lahore, the capital city of Pakistan's Punjab Province.

The Lahore police, on 28 January, alleged that the teenage boy was under the influence of PUBG, an online combat game which is known to be very addictive.

The dead bodies of his mother Nahid Mubarak, a 45 year old heath worker, along with her 22 year old son Taimur and two young daughters, aged 17 and 11 respectively, were recovered from Lahore's Kahna area last week.

The police, in a statement, said that the teenage body, who remained unhurt and is the only survivor of the family, turned out to be the murderer.

The boy, who is hooked to PUBG (Players Unknown Battlegrounds), confessed to have shot dead his mother and siblings under the influence of the game.

The statement also mentioned about the psychological issues which the boy has developed as a result of spending a lot of time on the online game.

Police said that his mother, who was a divorcee, used to admonish her son quite often for not dedicating his time to studies and wasting most of his time playing PUBG.

The incident unraveled when Nahid scolded the boy over this matter and later, the furious teenager took out his mother's pistol from a cupboard and subsequently shot her and his three other siblings dead while they were asleep.

The boy raised an alarm the next morning and the neighbors called in the police. The boy did not admit about his action to the police during that time, saying that he was on the upper storey of the house and had no clue about how his family was killed.

The police said that Nahid had acquired the licensed pistol for the protection of her family and also added that the weapon, which had been dumped in a drain by the boy, is yet to be recovered.

Furthermore, the police have said that the blood-stained cloth of the suspect has been recovered.

As per a report in Dawn newspaper, this gruesome incident happened to be the fourth such crime related to the online game in Lahore.

Zulfiqar Hameed, the then capital city police officer, had recommended a ban on the game to save lives, time and the future of millions of teenagers, after the first case surfaced in 2020.

The report said that three young players of the game have died by suicide in the last two years and the police in its report declared PUBG as the reason behind the deaths.
