The world witnessed the launch of the shortest flight by UAE-based Emirates airline on Monday. The airline launched A380 flight between Dubai and Muscat which is being claimed as world's shortest.

The same has been stated by the airlines in a series of tweets. One of its tweets states, "The average flight time (40 minutes) between Dubai and Muscat is only five minutes more than the time taken to clean an @Airbus A380 by a team of 42 people."

Another tweet added, "The wiring on an @Airbus A380 (500 km) is longer than the distance between Dubai and Muscat (340 km)."

The Divisional Senior Vice President Commercial Operations Centre of Emirates, Shaikh Majid Al Mualla says, "The introduction of the A380 services to Muscat means more of our customers will have the opportunity to experience our industry-leading products onboard, and will also enhance choice and travel preferences as they plan their journeys. Oman is an important destination for Emirates, and we will continue to look at ways to grow our operations in the market to best serve our customers."

Emirate, by launching its shortest flight, has even broken its own records only. The previous launch of the airlines was the world's shortest scheduled A380 service which operated between Dubai and Doha. but later, this flight had to be cancelled as all flights to Doha were cancelled in 2017 due to an ongoing diplomatic row that took place between Qatar and the UAE.

Now the flight between Dubai to Muscat has proved to be the shortest as the distance between Dubai and Muscat is only 340km. interestingly, this distance is even shorter than the 500km long wiring on an Airbus A380. This fact has also been revealed by Emirates on its Twitter account.

Another interesting factor is that the average flight time between Dubai and Muscat is about 40 minutes and this is just 5 minutes more than the time usually taken to clean an Airbus A380 by a team of 42 people.
