Discovery of new photosynthesis

Sentinel Digital Desk

Researchers of London’s Imperial College have discovered a new type of photosynthesis that used near-infrared light instead of visible light. Researchers have found that some blue-green algae deactivate 'chlorophylla' that are used in standard photosynthesis and switch to chlorophyll-f allowing photosynthesis in shade. It has the application for life on earth as well as on other planets’.
