MUMBAI: On AR Rahman's 58th birthday, the profound singer-composer announced a new collaboration with KM Music Conservatory. He has collaborated with this music institute to launch awards named the Bharat Maestro Awards. The awards are for honoring legendary Indian classical music artists.

The Oscar and Grammy-winning artist has said, "The greatest joy of a guru is to witness the success and growth of their students, and it is this bond that the Bharat Maestro Awards seeks to celebrate. The idea behind instituting this is for it to be more than just an award; it’s about connecting the past, present, and future of music and uniting us all through the language of sound."

He also added, "The Conservatory has always sought to bridge the gap between tradition and modernity, creating opportunities for young artists to develop their craft while staying grounded in the cultural fabric of India. With this annual award being instituted, I want to support building an ecosystem that will also fuel immersive experiences in the arena of music."

As of now, Rahman talked about the BMA mentor panel. In this panel, there will be music artists like Asha Bhosle, Bombay Jayashri, Ajoy Chakrabarty, and Amjad Ali Khan. Along with these, in the advisory board, there will be SaiShravanam, IlaPaliwal, FathimaRafiq, Bharat Bala, Khatija Rahman, Clint Valladares, and Adam Greig.
