NEW DELHI: The protesting wrestlers have responded to Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Singh's statement the day after it was made that he was willing to take a polygraph test to demonstrate his innocence but requested that the complainants' also face a narco test.

In reply to this, the protesting grapplers claimed on Monday that Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat, and all seven of the girls who have filed complaints against Singh are prepared for the narcotics test as well. They argued that the exams should be conducted under the supervision of the Supreme Court while being broadcast live to the entire nation.

Olympic medallist Bajrang Punia told the reporters during a press conference that Brij Bhushan made a statement regarding the narcotics test yesterday, adding “but it should be through the Supreme Court, the whole country should watch it live”. Punia added that all the seven girls are ready to undergo the polygraph test as well and “we are also ready”.

Notably, BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh said on Sunday that he would be open to taking a polygraph or narco-analysis test to prove or disprove the sexual harassment claims made against him. He does have a condition, though.

WFI Chief said on Facebook that he was “I am ready to get my narco test, polygraphy test or lie detector done but my condition is that along with me Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia should also undergo these tests. If both the wrestlers are ready to get their test done, then call the press and announce and I promise them that I am also ready for this.”

If Singh is proven guilty, according to Bajrang Punia, punishment should be meted out to him. "He is sitting 500 km away and saying anything...Police are lying to us. He is guilty; stop making him famous, he continued.

Vinesh Phogat, a wrestler, claimed that they have taken her and Bajrang's names, adding “ We are ready, all the girls are ready. The whole country should see what atrocity he did…. Narco test should be broadcast live”.

In the meantime, Sakshi Malik enlisted the public's assistance and urged them to participate in the demonstration on Tuesday at Indian Gate. “Whoever is stopped should do a candle march there. We have done everything peacefully,” she added.

Punia announced to the media that a Khap panchayat regarding the "Rs 15 medal" will be held on May 28 in front of the Parliament. Punia added, "He has insulted the tricolour along with the medal."
