Bank Holidays In April 2022: Banks To Remain Closed For 15 Days, Check Full List Here

On Friday 1st April all commercial and cooperative banks will remain close due to the annual closing of bank accounts. Here’s the full list of bank holidays in April 2022.

As per the RBI (Reserve Bank of India) calendar, all public and private sectors banks in different parts of the country will not available for service for up to 15 days in April 2022.

People having their bank work scheduled by this month must keep a note about the list of holidays on which banks will remain close.

Notably, there are no national holidays in the month of April this year but there will be long weekends and numerous festival holidays.

On the first day of April 2022 i.e. on Friday, all commercial and cooperative banks will be shut down because of the annual closing of accounts.

The 15 days of bank holidays in this month includes second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays but only 6 days out of these will be weekend holidays.

As per RBI, bank holidays are divided into 3 main categories that are Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act; Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday; and Banks' Closing of Accounts.

  • 1 April- Yearly closing of bank accounts
  • 2 April- Padwa/Ugadi Festival/1st Navratra/Telugu New Year's Day/Sajibu Nongmapanba (Cheiraoba)
  • 3 April- Sunday
  • 4 April- Sarhul
  • 5 April- Babu Jagjivan Ram's Birthday
  • 14 April - Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, Mahavir Jayanti, Baisakhi, Vaisakhi, Tamil New Year's Day, Cheiraoba, Biju Festival and Bohag Bihu
  • 15 April- Good Friday, Bengali New Year's Day (Nababarsha), Himachal Day, Vishu.
  • 16 April- Third Saturday and Bohag Bihu
  • 21 April- Garia Puja
  • 29 April- Shab-e-Qadr

Banks will remain close on two Saturdays of the month-

  • 9 April- Saturday
  • 23 April- Saturday

Banks will remain close on four Sundays in April-

  • 3 April- Sunday
  • 10 April- Sunday
  • 17 April- Sunday
  • 24 April- Sunday
