BANGALORE: A bail has been granted by Bengaluru civil court to Nikita Singhania, her mother Nisha Singhania, and her brother Anurag Singhania, who have been arrested over the suicide of Atul Subhash. The bail was granted on Saturday, following a petition to the Sessions Court from them.

Public prosecutor Ponnanna said, "The investigation is still pending, and granting bail at this stage hampers the process. We will review the court's order and consider appealing the decision.

Vikas Modi, brother of the deceased, also voiced objections to the bail order, asserting, “We submitted 15 strong objections, including the fact that the investigation is incomplete. We will approach the high court to challenge the order and, if necessary, escalate the matter to the Supreme Court.”

Atul Subhash died by suicide on December 9, leaving behind a 90-minute video and a 40-page note alleging harassment by his wife and in-laws. He claimed they pressured him to pay ₹3 crore for a divorce. Following a complaint by his cousin Bikas Kumar, Bengaluru Police filed an FIR under Sections 108 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). The accused were arrested and initially placed in 14-day judicial custody.

During questioning, Nikita denied the allegations, stating she had been living separately from her husband for three years and claimed she was a victim of harassment herself. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
