NEW DELHI: In a bizzare incident, a passenger onboard Air India flight AI2336 enroute from Delhi to Bangkok urinated on a co-passenger from Japan.
The embarrasing occurrence unfolded during the aircraft's descent yesterday as the intoxicated individual going by the name of Tushar Masand committed this disguisting act. The victim has been identified as Hiroshi Yoshizane from Japan who happens to be the Managing Director of Bridgestone India.
The accused drunk man was seated in 2D while Hiroshi was in 1D. The crew members received a complaint regarding this inappropriate behaviour, following which, they responded promptly.
The flight attendants assisted the Japanese passenger to clean up the mess and the staff also relocated Masand to another seat.
The victim seemed to be completely baffled by the harrowing ordeal he experienced but refrained from filing a formal complaint against the accused.
To add to the woes, another passenger identified as Matthew also urged the crew to remove Masand from his seat, citing discomfort as the reason.
The complaints made against him led to Masand getting shifted to the economy class, following which, the troublemaker was given a verbal warning.
This incident was confirmed by Air India who reported it to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
An Independent Committee has been convened by the airline to contemplate on future course of action. This proactive move demonstrates Air India's unwavering commitment to uphold DGCA protocols pertaining to unruly passenger behaviour.
