A Trail of Broken Mandaps and Vanishing Brides
Jodhpur: In a shocking and bizarre case from the Luni area of Jodhpur, a man named Vijendra has accused his own neighbours of tricking him into four fake marriages — each ending in humiliation and heartbreak. Despite spending nearly ₹3.85 lakh on wedding arrangements, Vijendra remains single and is now seeking justice.

According to his complaint, Vijendra, who was reportedly struggling with loneliness, was approached by four neighbours — Pappu Bharti, Amar Bharti, Bhanwari Devi, and Rakesh Bharti — who promised to help him find a bride. In return, they demanded money to arrange the marriages.

Each wedding ended in deceit:

  • First Marriage: The ceremony began as expected — the mandap was set, and the bride arrived — only to walk out minutes later.

  • Second Marriage: Though the marriage was formally completed, the bride boarded a train immediately after, vanishing without a trace.

  • Third Marriage: Both the bride and the priest mysteriously disappeared halfway through the rituals.

  • Fourth Marriage: After the marriage rites, the bride refused to accompany Vijendra during the traditional vidai (farewell) ceremony.

Threats and Police Action
Once Vijendra realised he had been conned, he demanded a refund from the accused. They allegedly asked for two months to return the funds, but instead, threatened to frame him in a false case if he continued pressing the issue.

Feeling betrayed and devastated, Vijendra has now filed a complaint at the Luni Police Station. He claims he was emotionally manipulated and financially ruined by people he trusted.

The police have acknowledged receiving the complaint and say an investigation is underway. Meanwhile, Vijendra waits, hoping the law will bring justice for what he describes as not just a financial loss — but a cruel emotional betrayal.
