Two political giants of two leading political parties of India are on a Kerala visit today. Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Congress President Rahul Gandhi both are scheduled to visit Kerala today, although short and to different locations. Notably, this would be their maiden visit after the Lok Sabha elections.

Prime Minister Modi will be heading out to Kochi on Friday night as he is to offer prayers at the famous Guruvayur Sri Krishna temple in Thrissur district. It is believed that the Guruvayur temple is 5,000 years old and its current central shrine was rebuilt in 1638. However, this temple strictly bans non-Hindus from entering into the temple and offer prayers in it.

Another prime figure Rahul Gandhi too will be seen in Kerala as he will be taking a tour of his constituency Wayanad. Gandhi is scheduled to arrive at the Kozhikode airport at 1.30 pm. He will also be participating in road shows as a mark of gratitude to his voters in Wayanad who voted for him and elected him as their representative. The party workers who campaigned for him will also be met and thanked by him. Although Modi will be in the state for a very short duration, the Congress president will be in his constituency for the next three days.

PM is scheduled to stay at Ernakulam Guest House on arrival and will fly by a Navy helicopter to the temple in Guruvayur. Apart from his temple visit, an 'Abhinandan Sabha' is also organized by BJP for congratulating Modi on his success.

This has been stated by the Chairman Guruvayur Dewasom Board KB Mohandas that the Prime Minister himself has shown interest to offer Thulabharam (a special offering where the devotee is weighed against a commodity of his choice) lotus flowers during his visit.
