MUMBAI : On the buzz film, RRR has finally won the award for its song 'Naatu Naatu' at the Golden Globes 2023. Naatu Naatu was nominated for the Best Original Song category.
The movie is the first ever Indian film to win a Golden Globe, competing among Hollywood's major hits. The award has been received by MM Keeravani, the composer of Naatu Naatu in Los Angeles.
He expressed immense happiness as the song has gained global attention. Several people from the Indian film fraternity tweeted in joy after the big victory of RRR. They congratulated the entire team for bringing India the first-ever Golden Globe Award.
Chiranjeevi Konidela, father of Ram Charan, the protagonist of RRR, congratulated the team through his tweet. 'Take a bow, heartiest congratulations. India is proud of you', mentioned Chiranjeevi in his tweet.
Apart from the members of Indian cinema, many Twitter users flooded the site with their joyful tweets. They believe it is an actual watershed moment for Telugu and overall Indian film industry. The song was sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava. It was written by Chandrabose.
RRR was also nominated in the Best Non-English Language Film Category, however, the award for this category was secured by Argentina, 1985. Naatu Naatu was against Taylor Swift's Carolina, Lady Gaga's Hold My Hand and Rihanna's Lift Me Up.
Director SS Rajamouli, Ram Charan and Jr NTR attended the Golden Globe Awards. MM Keeravani showed his fondness and praised Rajamouli's vision. While taking the award he stated 'this award belongs to my brother SS Rajamouli'.
RRR managed to collect approximately Rs 1200 crore worldwide. The film was released in four different languages- Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. The film is now waiting for the announcement of Academy Awards final nomination list due on 24th January, 2023.
RRR has made Indian cinema proud and acted as a prime motivation for the upcoming projects in the industry.
