NEW DELHI: The gory murder case of the live-in partner in Delhi was by itself a shock for almost everyone who heard about it, but the incidents that followed this event were way worse.
Aftab, the alleged murderer was arrested after months of killing her and disposing of her body in several pieces. He was escorted by police to the locations where he allegedly disposed off the chopped pieces. According to reports, he cracked under police investigation and confessed to the horrific crime.
He mentioned that the fight had escalated to a severe level on May 18. He had strangled her to death and put the body in the bathroom. According to reports, he told the investigating team that he then used google search to find ways to destroy evidence and get rid of any proof.
His research on the topic gave him the idea of how to cut the body into several pieces and find the best way to get rid of any possible DNA evidence. He allegedly used the chemical named 'sodium hypochlorite' to clean up the blood after chopping the body into several pieces in a bid to remove all evidence.
He also procured a 300-litre fridge from the neighborhood shop to store the chopped pieces. The blood-stained clothes of both of them were dumped in the garbage van to distort any evidence. However, the knife used in the crime has not been recovered by the police yet.
Aftab apparently started dating another woman just a few days after the incident. He even bought her to the same apartment where the body was still hidden. Reports mention that he met both the deceased and the next woman on the dating app named Bumble.
The perpetrator kept on using her social media account to keep in touch with her old friends for more than a month. People grew suspicious when her phone remained switched off for more than two months, leading her father to visit Delhi and register the missing complaint.
