The grand 216 feet tall iconic statue of Saint Ramanujacharya named as 'Statue of unity will be unveiled today on Saturday 5 February 2022 at around 5 pm in the Muchintal temple of Hyderabad.
The saint is known as the legend who promoted the concept of equality in every aspect of life including caste, creed, language and faith.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday will be visiting Hyderabad for the inauguration of the statue to commemorate the Bhakti Saint Ramanujacharya.
According to an official statement, the inauguration programme is a part of the ongoing celebration of the 1000th birth anniversary of Sri Ramanujacharya and the 12th day Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi Samaroham.

Throughout his entire life, the timeless icon of equality Sri Ramanujacharya worked hard to bring in the concept of equality regardless of anything for the upliftment of the human spirit.
The Vedic philosopher Ramanujacharya was born in 1017 in the area of Sriperumbudur located in Tamil Nadu. He lived for 120 years as per the ancient scriptures and revived the Bhakti movement.
During the early 11th and 12th centuries, Ramanujacharya promoted the concept of equality by travelling in different parts of the country. He fought and struggled to remove the discrimination in social, economic, gender and all other aspects.
Know About 216-Feet Tall Statue of Equality:
The huge statue of 11th century Saint Sri Ramanujacharya has been made in the area close to Hyderabad International airport at Shamshabad. It is built in a village in Telangana named Muchintal.
The giant statue is made up of panchaloha which is a mixture of five types of metals i.e. gold, copper, zinc, silver and brass. This statue will be the tallest metallic statue in a sitting position among statues in the entire world.
The statue is placed on a 54 feet high base building called Bhadra Vedi. There are ancient Indian texts and educational galleries are made available in the building for the proper understanding of the statue and the Bhakti Saint.
The building also has floors devoted to a Vediconline library, a theatre and a research centre that gives a detailed idea about the works by Sri Ramanujacharya. The concept of the grand statue came from Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami from the Ashram of Sri Ramanujacharya.
