Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh: In a continued crackdown on an alleged religious conversion racket, the Uttar Pradesh administration on Saturday launched bulldozer action against the illegal residence of Sabroz, the nephew of Changur, believed to be the mastermind of the network.
The demolition follows earlier action taken against Changur’s own property, and is part of a broader effort by law enforcement to dismantle the infrastructure supporting the conversion syndicate.
Sabroz, who has a criminal record in Azamgarh and has previously been jailed, came under renewed scrutiny after his name surfaced during investigations by the Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) into illegal religious conversions in Balrampur. His role, while still under probe, is believed to involve logistical and financial support to the gang.
The demolition was conducted with a heavy police presence, and exclusive footage from the site shows bulldozers tearing through the illegal structure. Authorities emphasised that the action aligns with the state’s commitment to cracking down on unlawful encroachments and criminal networks under the guise of religious operations.
A senior official stated, “This sends a strong message that anyone involved in such activities—directly or indirectly—will not be spared.”
The bulldozer action is symbolic of the state government’s zero-tolerance policy towards organised religious conversion rings, and reflects an ongoing push to reinforce law and order in regions where such activities have allegedly taken root.
