LUCKNOW: In an unusual incident in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, a young man has found himself at the center of a controversy after marrying two women on the same day. The man, a resident of Harpur Budhat, first tied the knot with his girlfriend in a court marriage in the morning, only to participate in an arranged wedding later that night, as per his family's wishes.
It is reported that the couple had been dating for almost four years and had earlier performed a temple marriage, living together without the knowledge of the man's family. Due to pressure from his family, the couple decided on a court marriage, hoping that the marriage would be accepted by his family after legal approval. Ironically, this court marriage occurred on the same date that his family had scheduled for his arranged wedding.
The matter became worse when the girlfriend found out that her boyfriend had proceeded with the arranged marriage. Shocked, she went to his house, where she was reportedly belittled and rejected by his family. Betrayed, she then lodged a police complaint against him.
After the complaint, the man has gone into hiding, as reported, along with his family members. The police have opened an investigation and are actively searching for the man in question. The story is ongoing, and additional updates are expected as the investigation continues.
