NEW DELHI: A western disturbance passing over the Himalayan region is expected to bring isolated snowfall and rain to Arunachal Pradesh in the next few days. Meanwhile, the eastern states of Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are expected to receive scattered showers.
Meanwhile, heavy rain and thunderstorms are predicted for Odisha and Andhra Pradesh on account of a well marked low pressure area stationed off Andhra's coastline. Rainfall intensity in these states will abate by the afternoon of Saturday, however cyclonic circulation may hold good, isolated rain along the East Coast till the weekend, and through the following week.
Other regions, including Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, are expected to have isolated to scattered rainfall in the next couple of days.
Temperatures are expected to vary from state to state. Maximum temperatures are likely to be below normal in Odisha on Friday and Saturday while minimum temperatures will be below normal at nights over Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Minimum temperatures are likely to be warmer than normal over the next five days in southeastern states.
The fluctuating weather conditions highlight the fact that seasonal systems have different effects on various parts of the Indian geographical landscape, as authorities advise people to exercise care and prepare accordingly in affected regions.
