141st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel observed at Binkandie Ghat

Silchar, November 6: 141st Birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who was known as ‘The Iron Man’ of India and observation of tiol Unity Day was observed at Gangadayal Dixit Community Hall, Binkandie Ghat under the auspices of Binkandie development block and ICDS, last Wednesday. Later, a meeting cum discussion was also held with a large of ICDS workers, helpers, staff of development block, and local people. L Kabung, Child Development Project Officer, said, “All Anganwadi workers should keep every ICDS centres neat and clean so as to provide a healthy and hygienic surrounding. Unity is the basis of success and all should remain and work together as a team so that rapid development takes place in all aspects.”

 Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was born in Gujarat and was the first deputy Prime Minister of the country. He was a social activist and lawyer by profession. Sardar Patel was posthumously awarded Bharat Rat, the highest civilian honour, in 1991. L Kabung further said that one should lead one’s life like Sardar Patel and take cue from the his life. Among others who spoke on the occasion, include ICDS supervisors Nimi Mahanta and Bidutoma Akhanda, Satyawati Kamai, president, Binkandie GP, Rajat Kanti Barman, LD, and Sabita Goala of Binkandie development block. Later, they took out a procession at PWD road through Mahatma Gandhi statue, and other important road of Binkandie Ghat. They also took an oath being the public servants of India; they will continuously strive to bring about integrity and transparency in all spheres of their activities.

 They also pledged that they would work unstintingly for eradication of corruption in all aspects of life and remain vigilant and work towards the growth and reputation of their organization. They further pledged that through collective efforts, they would bring pride to their respective organizations and provide value based service to their fellow citizens and do duty conscientiously and act without any fear or favour.
