15th Chemistry Olympiad held to popularize chemistry

KALIABOR, November 15: The 15th Chemistry Olympiad, 2016 (State level) was successfully held at Kaliabor College Centre on Sunday. This Olympiad was organized by the Society for Chemical Education, Assam (SCEA) to popularize chemistry among students. More than 240 students from eight different institutions of the locality participated in the programme in four different categories - class (IX), class(X), class (XI) and class (XII). The State-level Chemistry Olympiad is organized by the SCEA in four different categories. This Olympiad is considered as a morale booster for the examinees to prepare for the tiol Standard Examition in Chemistry (NSEC). Success at the NSEC is the eligibility criteria to appear in the tiol Chemistry Olympiad (NCO).  Kaliabor College Centre in-charge of the SCEA, Dr. Pranjit Kr. Bhuyan thanked all the faculty members of the Chemistry department, teachers coming from different institutions and the authority of Kaliabor College for the cooperation rendered for successful completion of the programme.
