37th Battalion SSB observes 11th Raising Day

TANGLA, July 4: The 37th Bn SSB, Mangaldai celebrated its 11th Raising Day on Monday at its battalion campus at Geleindi with a day-long programme. Various sports and recreatiol activities were organized for women and children to observe the occasion in a befitting manner. A colorful cultural programme was organized during the evening in which culture troupes from border areas participated and presented a colourful  programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Shiv Gopal Shukla, Commandant, said that during the last 11 years of deployment, the battalion had effectively domited the anti-social activities in Indo-Bhutan border area of Udalguri district. The battalion had been able to stop trans-border crimes and illegal activities in the border areas. The battalion had achieved its aim of creating a sense of security among the border population. A zero tolerance policy had been adopted against the anti-tiol elements and crimils, he said. Apart from performing normal border duties, the battalion was assigned with the responsibilities to maintain law and order, election duties and was actively involved in carrying out various civic action activities and welfare activities launched by the government. Sadha Hojai,  Udalguri Deputy Commissioner, Rajnish Bora, secretary, Legal Cell, Government of Assam, Chote Lal, Commandant 210 Cobra, Bn CRPF Dalgaon,  Om Prakash, Commandant, 61Bn , SSB and H Jiten Singh, Commandant 23Bn, SSB Lalpool were present during the programme.
