48-hour ONGC bandh called

DEMOW, October 24: The Sivasagar district Motor Labour Union has called a 48-hour ONGC bandh from October 26. Jiban Gogoi, vice-president and Ramjan Ali, assistant secretary of Motor Labour Union of Sivasagar District Samiti  stated in a press release that a couple of times they had discussed with the authority of ONGC , ONGC Transport Union, and Labour Commissioner regarding their monthly payment and EPF, and an agreement had also been made. According to the agreement, along with the previous monthly salary an increase of Rs 1,700 should also be paid. The ONGC authority, on the other hand, said that they had not paid 40 per cent salary due to which the agitators has called for a 48-hour ONGC bandh.
